Keep a smile on your face and let your personality be your autograph. ~ Leo Daniel Lasertooth Scanner Finds Cavities Years Earlier Have you ever had a dentist find a cavity that required a large filling when the cavity wasn’t there 6 months ago? In reality it WAS there before, except that conventional x-rays didn’t show it. This new Laser Scanner finds these super small cavities YEARS earlier while they are still small enough to be fixed without a shot or the drill. Painless Early Cavity Detection With the DiagnoDent LaserTHE PROBLEM Dentists were taught to diagnose cavities by checking for soft spots with a small pick, or by looking at an X-ray picture. Thanks to fluoride, however, many people's enamel can be very hard and dense, thereby masking decay activity. When decay goes undiagnosed and untreated, it most often progresses. Frequently, the first indication that there is a problem is when a patient reports pain or a broken tooth. By the time the cavity gets to this stage, treatment is often extensive and costly. THE SOLUTION: Early Detection & Early Treatment

The DiagnoDent instrument works on the principle that healthy tooth structure reflects light differently from diseased tooth structure (cavities). The examination is completely painless. The light wand is placed on the chewing surface of a tooth and the instrument registers a number that correlates with the probability and the extent of the decay. With early detection, treatment can most often be minimally invasive and less costly.
